You will need longer fairing bolts but that s it.
They are so dang loud without one.
A noisy roof rack can be very unpleasant and eliminating the noise should be a priority.
I can t seem to find any suitable fairings for the oem vw roof rack mk7 part 5g4071126.
I use the vw bars with inno snowboard rack and inno 48 wind fairing during the winter.

This is a good alternative to the yakima and thule fairings that need modification to the stock rack in order to fit cleanly.
It clamps right around the oem bars and has a nice amount of adjustability.

Picked up an oem roof rack and a yakima fairing for my 2017 gli.

To my surprise the oem racks are made from a thule design and probably by thule i would assume but no fairing option that was through thule or oem available for my set up.
Just did a quick search of roof rack fairing images and they re all over the place as far as fairing width.
Once installed it will not interfere at all with mounting accessories bike attachments ski snowboard attachments etc and as a bonus it looks very clean.

Had it without the fairing for a while and it was a bit noisy at highway speeds but once i found the inno medium fairing it helped tremendously.
This is the best way i ve found of installing a thule fairing onto an oem vw roof rack.

With whisper quiet electric vehicles becoming mainstream manufacturers will have to step up their game to develop products that are quieter untill hopefully one day the noise from the roof will be a thing of the past.

Picked up an oem roof rack and a yakima fairing for my 2017 gli.
Days on google and forums and i can only find universal fit versions that block the t track or instructions for modifying fairings that are no longer available and critical information lost in missing image placeholders.
